Ingenium Archial has been delighted to prepare this indicative masterplan document for the outline design of a new hotel and associated leisure facilities, apartments and residences on a spectacular site at the north east end of Loch Long near the village of Arrochar for the Ben Arthur Development Company.
It is, however, important to firstly emphasise the conceptual nature of this document. The following indicative sketches and ideas have all been prepared to illustrate the potential of the site, to explore the issues involved, to tease out the possible requirements of the brief and to illustrate just one possible sketch solution to these various considerations, all in an effort to generate interest and further debate about how best to develop this interesting and challenging project.
The document has a simple structure and is arranged in the following manner:
Photographic images and montages illustrating the location of the site and its wonderful context within the Loch Lomond National Park
Indicative Briefing Information
Our current understanding and assumptions of the likely briefing requirements for the development of the proposals
Key Design Issues
A summary of those key considerations which are required to be addressed by any new proposal within such a challenging context
Sketch masterplan, floor plans, elevations and 3D images illustrating some indicative ideas about how the various components of the site may look, including the hotel and some examples of the residential units, all of which will require further development in due course
A brief summary of the document and an explanation of the next steps in the development of the project
As an initial exploration of the potential offered by the re-development of this very interesting site, the following pages are designed to offer a good foundation for further deliberations, and potential development of a suitable site wide solution with an appropriate development partner in due course.
